Upcoming E-Portfolio Events

I'm at the Eife-l ePortfolio 2007 conference in Maastricht, Netherlands (and my Blogger page is in Dutch!). This evening was the banquet celebration for the conference. After the awards for the best papers, they gave a special "Lifetime Achievement Award" and guess who got it? Me! Besides a bouquet of flowers, I'm not sure what else I get, but it was a very nice honor. I was actually very touched.

There are two ePortfolio events planned for the next spring: February 7-8, 2008, in Brisbane, Australia sponsored by QUT, and May 5-7, 2008, in Montreal, Canada, sponsored by Eife-l.

Congrats!
I have been reading your blog for a while and all teh work you have done shows that you deserve such an honor.

May I also suggest another eportfolio happening in Europe next May. One of its coordinators is Prof. Fernando Costa, who also has done an amazing job about Learning Technologies, and also eportfolios.

Dear colleagues,

Yes, indeed, the Socrates Comenius 2.1 Project ”Digital Portfolio as a strategy for teachers’ professional development” will organise a two days seminar focussed on the use of digital portfolios for educational purposes.

The seminar will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from May, 22 to 24, 2008.

Participants will be accommodated on board of one of the Silja Line ships departing from the harbour of Helsinki.

The planned conferences and paper presentations will take place during the voyage to Stockholm allowing seminar participants to enjoy a visit to the old town and, at the same time, to experience onboard activities. The return to Helsinki isn’t until 24th of May at 9.55 am.
